About Shannon:
Education
Shannon grew up on the Central Coast and then earned her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychology in 2004 at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, with minors in Child Development and Women's Studies. After working for several local non-profits she returned to school and she earned her Master’s of Social Work Degree in 2009 from California State University, Fresno, with a concentration in Public Mental Health. She completed her associate hours working with severe mental illness on an Assertive Community Treatment Team in Santa Barbara County. She became a licensed therapist in 2012 and opened a solo private practice in 2013. In 2022, she founded Inner Expansions Therapy Services with the goal of expanding services to include the clinical training of those therapist who have recently graduated from school. She has genuine love of learning and teaching. She immensely enjoys her work as a Clinical Supervisor - guiding, teaching and mentoring therapists who are working on their associate hours.
Licenses and Certifications
Licensed Clinical Social Worker in CA - LCS28917
Completed Level 1 IFS Training through the IFS Institute in January of 2024
Completed basic training in EMDR in 2018 and completed advanced training to became a Certified EMDR Therapist through EMDRIA in 2023
Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner in 2011
Trained as Domestic Violence Crisis Counselor in 2005
Trained as a Sexual Assault Crisis Counselor in 2003
Insurance and Fees
Shannon's fee per session is $175. She is able to bill Anthem Blue Cross of CA, Aetna, MediCare and CenCal directly for services under Inner Expansions Therapy Services. For all other insurance companies Inner Expansions can provide a Statement For Insurance Reimbursement (commonly called a "Super Bill") for you to request reimbursement from your health insurance plan.
